Knitted Mesh – Various Materials and Types for High Filtering Performance
Knitted mesh is a wire fabric, which is made by a circular knitted machine. The various knitted material wires are knitted into a sleeve of continuous stocking of inter-linked wire loops. It has rigid structure and can be made of various materials to be used in chemical, pharmacy, mechanical and coal mine industries for filtering, separating, cleaning and other applications.
Knitted mesh material
Knitted mesh can be made of metallic materials as well as non-metallic materials. They can be used in different applications for different filtering requirements and different environments.
- Metal wires:
- Galvanized wire. Excellent corrosion and rust resistance.
- Stainless steel wire. Most durable among all the metallic materials.
- Brass wire. Bright surface for special applications.
- Copper wire. Excellent shielding, corrosion and rust performance.
- Other alloy wire (Monel wire, Titanium, etc)
- Non-metallic wires: PP wire, PE wire, PTFE wire, and so on.

KM-03: Brass knitted mesh.
KM-04: Copper knitted mesh.
Wire types
- Flat wires. Flat wire knitted mesh supplies larger contact surface for better separation efficiency.
- Round wires. The round wire knitted mesh is the standard and most widely used types.
KM-05: Round wire knitted mesh.
KM-06: Flat wire knitted mesh.
Strand types
Knitted mesh can be made from mono-filament wires or multi-filament wires.
- Mono-filament knitted mesh. Standard type and suitable for almost all common applications.
- Multi-filament knitted mesh. Suitable for heavy duty and places which needs high loading pressure and requirements.

KM-08: Multi-filament knitted mesh.
Surface type
- Flattened surface. Standard surface type to be used in ordinary applications.
- Ginning surface. Can be crimped into different shapes, gap depth and width for better filtering performance.
KM-09: Flattened surface knitted mesh.
KM-10: Ginning surface knitted mesh.
Compressed types
Commonly, the knitted mesh is supplied in rolls. In gas-liquid filter applications, noise reduction and shock absorption applications, the knitted mesh will be compressed into coils and packs.
